GRS experts train Indonesian nuclear supervisors on behalf of IAEA

From the end of November 2016 until the end of January 2017, experts from the Indonesian nuclear regulatory authority BAPETEN spent a few weeks training at different company locations of GRS. This transfer of knowledge took place within the framework of the IAEA-funded training programme to strengthen regulatory competence in nuclear safety and radiation protection.

In Berlin, the main focus of the training was on the technical and regulatory requirements during construction licensing and site assessment. At our Cologne location, the training programme focused on the formulation of safety requirements and performance of safety assessments as well as on instrumentation and control technology in nuclear power plants. At our Garching location, the focus of the lectures and trainings was on the application of the simulation codes developed by GRS.

Our guests' feedback was positive. The Indonesian experts showed great interest in the training. They are now keen to use what they have learned in their work back home in Indonesia.
