• 1990 − 2016: activities for Siemens and AREVA, for AREVA GmbH lastly as head of the unit "Engineering & Projects", main areas of work: safety and accident management concepts as well as accident analyses for boiling and pressurised water reactors, investigation and assessment of events in NPPs, commissioning of reactors
• 1985 − 1990: research assistant at the Technical University of Zittau
• 1985: graduation in nuclear engineering at the Moscow Power Engineering Institute (Diplom-Ingenieur)

• 2004 – 2016: member of the Steering Committee of the Nuclear Safety Standards Commission (KTA)
• 2009 – 2011: chairperson of the Steering Committee of the Nuclear Safety Standards Commission (KTA)
• 2006 – 2011: member of the Committee on Reactor Operation (RB) of the Reactor Safety Commission (RSK)
• 2010 – 2011: chairman of the Committee RB
• since 2010: member of the RSK
• since 2014: chairman of the RSK Committee on Electrical Installations (EE)
