Beta radiation
Beta radiation is ionising radiation that is produced during a certain type of radioactive decay - beta decay - of atomic nuclei.
The particles emitted during beta decay are called beta particles; they are electrons or positrons. Examples of so-called beta emitters are strontium-90 or iodine-131.
