Gesellschaft für Reaktorsicherheit

The Federal Minister for Research and Technology awarded a contract to Gesellschaft für Reaktorsicherheit (GRS) on August 11, 1981, to perform a "Risk-Oriented Analysis of the SNR-300", according to a recommendation of the factfinding committee on "Future Nuclear Energy Policy" of the 8th German Federal Parliament. As subcontractors of GRS or in cooperation with GRS, a number of competent institutions and persons have participated in the study, e.g. Kernforschungszentrum Karlsruhe, Ingenieurbüro König & Heunisch, FrankfurtM. and Prof. Dr. Ahorner of the seismological station of the University of Köln. In connection with the analysis of core destructive accidents 18 experts from West Germany and foreign countries answered a questionnaire related to certain phenomena of the accident sequence.
