Radiation passbook
Anybody working by profession in different establishments where they may be exposed to ionising radiation needs a radiation passbook.
The radiation passbook is a yellow booklet in A6 format that mainly contains personal details and information about the previous dose of the individual. The employee (e.g. workman or technical inspector sent on an assignment to a nuclear power plant) submit their radiation passbook to the respective company before starting work. The company then checks that no limits can be exceeded by the planned activity. At the end of the assignment, the company enters the dose measured with a dosimeter worn by the person on assignment during the activity in their radiation passbook. Thus, after completion of the work, the radiation passbook contains the current information on the dose received so far.
