GRS Annual Report 1998

The technical-scientific commitment to the safety of nuclear power plants continued to be the major field of activity for GRS in the past year. Apart from the monitoring and evaluation of operating experience, extensive research and development was again carried out, as were many analyses and assessments of safety-related issues in the fields of reactor safety, fuel supply and waste disposal as well as final storage.
 
Numerous projects could be successfully concluded and the work has already led again to important results. The tools for guaranteeing nuclear safety were further improved and the technical competence of GRS was strengthened.
