GRS Annual Report 2005/2006

As in previous years, GRS can once again look back on a period marked by considerable progress made by its experts in connection with the clarification of safety-related issues concerning nuclear safety and waste management. This Annual Report contains articles on a range of representative projects in these fields. The fact that progress could be made is particularly remarkable in the face of the many obstacles our company had to face in recent years. Posing new challenges were above all the constantly decreasing government research funds over many years – which are currently showing a slowly rising trend again – as well as the unresolved situation of finding a German repository and the growing number of retirements of experienced personnel. Nevertheless, we have managed in consensus with our shareholders and our supervisory board to stabilise our human resources in the medium term and thereby to maintain and in some areas even to expand our competence.
