In addition to its commitment to the German Alliance for Competence in Nuclear Technology, GRS’s cooperation within international research networks has also become increasingly imporant. Thus, the ASTEC code, for example, which was jointly developed and validated with the French IRSN, represents the most important key element in the European SARNET network where research on severe accidents in Europe is coordinated and jointly promoted. Because of the clear progress achieved last year, ASTEC is increasingly being spread across Europe.
